Signs that gambling may no longer be recreational can include spending more time or money than intended, repeatedly attempting to recover losses, hiding gambling activity from others, borrowing money to gamble or experiencing distress connected with gambling. If any of these situations apply, consider stopping and speaking to an independent support service.

Use Available Safety Tools

Regulated services may provide tools designed to reduce gambling harm, including deposit limits, spending limits, time reminders,
cooling-off periods and self-exclusion. Where these tools are available, they can be used before problems develop rather than only after gambling has become difficult to control.
